If you’d like to hand down a smartwatch currently on a OneNumber plan to a family member to use on a OneNumber plan, please first, check if there's any remaining Tab balance on your device:
If there is a balance and your family member is on the same billing account: just reach out to our friendly Koodo team, and we'll gladly assist in transferring the watch to your family member.
If there is a balance and your family member is on a different account:
Contact our Koodo team to settle the remaining balance.
Once that's done, we'll happily help transfer the watch to your family member.
If there's no remaining balance: simply unpair the smartwatch from the old phone, select 'Remove plan', and pair it with your family member's phone. And if you did not upgrade to a new watch already, contact us to either explore the renewal possibilities or if you prefer we can help you to cancel your OneNumber plan.
To manage calling features for a smartwatch on a OneNumber plan, use the settings on your smartphone. Your OneNumber plan allows your smartwatch to use the mobile number and features of the primary device as its own.
There's no need to share your watch number. Simply share your main phone number with friends and family.
Your watch uses our OneNumber service, which connects to the network independently but syncs with your main number. When your watch receives or makes calls, it uses your main mobile number.
This seamless integration ensures you're always reachable on your preferred number, whether using your phone or watch.
Grey market watches are watches that were manufactured for sale and distribution for a country other than Canada. While they might look similar to Canadian models, they’re not designed to work on our network due to different hardware specifications and incompatible software configurations. These devices can be purchased and imported directly by individuals, or they might end up in Canada through private sales or third-party retailers.
The key difference lies in how these devices are made. Manufacturers tailor both the hardware and software to meet the specific requirements of different countries, local networks, and carriers. This means grey market devices often use different radio frequencies and software that are not compatible with our network.
Due to these variations, grey market devices often can't be activated on our network. Even if they seem to work initially, you might experience issues with call quality, data speeds, or even the ability to connect at all. Because of this, we can’t guarantee their functionality or provide support for them. To ensure the best experience, we recommend using devices specifically designed for the Canadian market.
